Fossil Vertebrates From FloridaHome

Here is my collection of fossils. Most are vertebrate fossils of bone and teeth from Ice Age animals from the Pleistocene epoch. It ended with the last Ice Age about 10,000 years ago. During the Ice Age North America was a very different place. Glaciers covered much of the north and winters were milder and summers were cooler than today. Many large animals went extinct with the end of the Ice Age. It's believed that climate changes and pressure put on them by man, who crossed into America from Asia around 13,000 years ago possibly drove the Mammoth to extinction. During the last ice age Florida was nearly twice today’s size!

Mammoth and ice age animals.
